What is the Texas Council of Teachers of Mathematics? The Texas Council of Teachers of Mathematics (TCTM) is a professional organization that encourages an active interest in mathematics. TCTM publishes a journal called Texas Mathematics Teacher. Through the Texas Mathematics Teacher and the annual Conference for the Advancement of Mathematics Teaching (CAMT), educators have the opportunity to study and increase their knowledge of effective teaching practices in mathematics. TCTM's mission is supported by our focus in five areas: recruit and retain mathematics teachers, curriculum and instruction support, advocacy in education policy, promote communication among teachers and serve as partner affiliate to National Council of Teachers of Mathematics (NCTM).
