Shere Salinas is currently a Mathematics Specialist for Corpus Christi ISD. Shere has worked in Texas public schools for 28 years including teaching elementary and secondary prior to her current position in administration. Twice she was a semi-finalist for teacher of the year in CCISD. Shere has earned National Board Certification in Early Adolescence Mathematics.
Shere has previously served as the Vice-President and South Regional Director of the Texas Council of Teachers of Mathematics. Shere has testified before the Texas State Board of Education regarding State mathematics standards. She has served as an adjunct professor at Texas A&M University – Corpus Christ and was awarded the Texas A & M Chancellor Teaching Excellence Award four times. In addition, Shere was awarded the Deans Award for Outstanding Research at the Southwestern Educational Research Association Conference.
Shere Salinas is an active member of the Texas Council of Teachers of Mathematics, TODOS: Mathematics for All, Association of Mathematics Teacher Educators of Texas, Coastal Council of Teachers of Mathematics, Texas Association of Supervisors of Mathematics, Texas Association of Literacy Educators, and National Council of Teachers of English.
Shere has earned a BA from the College of Education at Michigan State University, an MS from the College of Science and Engineering at Texas A&M University – Corpus Christi, and a Ph.D. from the College of Education at Texas A&M University – Corpus Christi.
She would be honored to continue serving teachers in the state of Texas in the role of Vice-President Elementary for the Texas Council of Teachers of Mathematics.
