Spring 2012 Elections Mandy Noll currently serves as the K-12 Mathematics Coordinator for Allen ISD. Mandy has 15 years of experience in education. She has taught 5th through 8th grade math in various school districts in the North Texas area. Prior to taking the Math Coordinator position in Allen, Mandy was a secondary math instructional specialist. She received her undergraduate degree from Austin College, and her M.Ed. from Southern Methodist University. In her role as math coordinator for Allen ISD, Mandy has worked with district personnel and teacher leaders to align district curriculum, instruction and assessment. An integral part of this alignment has been work around common formative assessment. Through research, district staff development and collaborative planning, teachers have been trained on how common formative assessment (CFA) guides instruction. During these trainings teachers decide what content a CFA should cover, develop a CFA, and decide how results will be discussed and the implications to their instruction. This continued work on curriculum, instruction, and assessment alignment is what drives our support to help all students in Allen ISD meet their potential in mathematics. Mandy holds a Texas Secondary (6-12) Mathematics Teaching certificate and a 4-8 Master Mathematics Teacher certification. She is a member of the Association for Supervision and Curriculum Development (ASCD), Texas ASCD, the National Council of Teachers of Mathematics (NCTM), the Texas Council of Teachers of Mathematics (TCTM), the Texas Association of Supervisors of Mathematics (TASM), McMath (DFW area mathematics supervisors’ organization) and Learning Forward. She has been actively involved in developing and facilitating staff development at the campus level and district level for the past 6 years. Also, she has presented at CAMT numerous times and at a Regional NCTM conference. Mandy teaches the 4-8 math classes for all 4-8 generalist and math candidates in Region 10’s Teacher Preparation Program. Mandy lives with her husband and their schnauzer, Sherman, in Allen, Texas.
