Sherry Clark for Northwest Regional Director (Region 9, 14, 16, or 17)

Sherry Clark currently serves as a Secondary Math Education Specialist at Region 16. She is an advocate for math teachers and math education in Texas. Sherry currently serves as Director of the Region 16 Collaborative for Excellence in Mathematics Teaching, a grant program sponsored by the Texas Regional Collaboratives (TRC).   The TRC is an organization committed to improving student performance in Mathematics and Science education. Sherry was selected by the State Board of Education to serve on the Mathematics Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills (TEKS) Review Committee for Algebra I. She currently serves the teachers of Region 16 by providing professional development opportunities, instructional coaching, and support in improving content knowledge, pedagogy, and state standards/assessment awareness.

Sherry is a certified Secondary Math and English teacher, with sixteen years of teaching experience. She was Tascosa High School’s Teacher of the Year in 2007, and served as the Math Learning Leader for Caprock High School from 2007-2009. Sherry resides in Amarillo, TX where she is a wife and mother of two children.
