TCTM awards grants and scholarships each year to promote the advancement of mathematics education across the state of Texas. Members of TCTM are invited to submit applications for the organization’s “Grants for Classroom Innovation” and “CAMT Grants for Classroom Teachers.” Additionally, preservice teachers are eligible to apply for the “Cynthia L. Schneider Mathematics Preservice Teacher Scholarship.

CAMT Grants for Classroom Teachers

TCTM is pleased to offer the “CAMT Grants for Classroom Teachers.” Ten active TCTM members teaching PK-12 mathematics will receive $199 grants to cover CAMT’s early-bird registration fee. Recipients will be selected through a random drawing and are asked to volunteer for at least one two-hour shift during the CAMT conference. This initiative aims to support educators’ professional growth and engagement in the mathematics education community.
Cynthia L. Schneider Mathematics Preservice Teacher Scholarship

Dr. Cynthia Schneider was a research associate at the Charles A. Dana Center at The University of Texas at Austin. Among her years of service to mathematics education, Dr. Schneider served the Texas Council of Teachers of Mathematics at various times as the President, editor of the Texas Mathematics Teacher, membership chair and webmaster. She also served on the board of the Conference for the Advancement of Mathematics Teaching, as a conference coordinator for the National Council of Supervisors of Mathematics, and as the Houston regional program chair for the National Council of Teachers of Mathematics.
